Dead Nation is free to download on PS3’s online PSN service over the next few weeks, as part of Sony’s Welcome Back package following its downtime. We’ve listed some essential tips and linked to a full guide to help you survive the zombie onslaught in this downloadable co-op game.Dead Nation tips. Upgrade – at each checkpoint you can upgrade your weaponry, buy items and change armour – make sure you fully upgrade your assault rifle early on.
Charge up – hold R1 with the assault rifle to ready a charge shot. Release to fire a bullet that does a lot more damage, and one that can take out multiple zombies in a line at once.
Boot it – check the boot of cars by pressing R2 to get money. Remember, money means upgrades. Shoot it – if you’re in a spot of bother and have too many zombies to deal with, shoot a car that is flashing a dim red. This means it has a car alarm, and by shooting it you will set it off. The zombies will be drawn to it before it explodes, giving you free kills. Flash it – throw a flare to attract the zombies’ attention. Good for crowd control.

Bomb it – throw a grenade to take care of multiple zombies at once, but be careful not to get caught in the blast radius. Check the area – fully search your surroundings before progressing to the next checkpoint. You’re more likely to stumble across decent armour, health and cash. Leg it – don’t forget you can run briefly by pressing L2. This will brush off any harmful substances and help you briefly avoid any nearby zombies. Team up – this game is easier and a lot more fun when you’re playing with a friend.
Alternatively, if you want a real challenge, go it alone. Drink up – use a vending machine to regain health, or shoot it to draw zombies to it. Push them back – hit R2 to melee attack zombies. Good for pushing away a crowd. Bottle it – keep moving when firing. Back away from zombies.
One good tip is to find a narrow area to create a zombie bottleneck and take them all out in one go.Dead Nation guideCheck out this Dead Nation trophy guide, roadmap and loot guide onDo you have any Dead Nation tips and tricks to share? Post them in the comments box below.
