Using your link burst during engage is very beneficial! Using link burst in general is a way to get teammates up to level 3 burst. When you're engaged your burst level and status is connected with your engaged teammate. Using link burst on someone you're engaged with can get you both to level 3 burst! With each level of burst you get increased speed, damage, plus more with the ability to double jump. I'd say it's necessary when fighting Aragami later on.
Whenever you engage with someone and you're under level 3 burst status you should look for a chance to link burst. You get more link burst charges from devouring (up to 3 with no extra buffs / powerups). Whenever you get some downtime during a fight you should link burst others. Especially if you can't get anymore charges. Don't want to devour and waste any bullets you could have had!Perfect shield / guard is based on the timing you deploy your shield to block an attack (you should start shielding right before any attack will hit).
The window is pretty small but manageable (It's said around the community the window is 0.2s). You'll know you did it correctly when you see a yellow shockwave effect.
Perfect shielding not only nullifies all damage you would normally take but it's the only way to shield against devour attacks. Any devour attacks that are perfect shielded should also be destroyed in some way. Practice timing your perfect shielding and devour attacks will be much easier to deal with. Most people I've met through this game don't really pay attention to elemental weakness. It can give you such a huge boost in damage when utilized correctly. You should check the database to see what an Aragami's main element is also.

If an Aragami's element is freeze (like Gboro-Gboro) it'll actually reduce your damage if you use a weapon with elemental freeze damage. This can make things tricky sometimes when you consider one weakness on an Aragami will make you do less to a different one on the same mission if the elements conflict. Originally posted by sarith (sarith157#2156):I'm not sure about the cap of elemental damage, but they do go to at least OOO.
As far as each O, the boost depends on if the aragami's spot is X weak or XX weak. For X weakness, each O applies approximately 12.5% more damage, and for XX each O applies 25%.If somebody could elaborate in the comments I'd appreciate it.Bullets are a really good tool for handling Aragami. A lot of people aren't happy with the new system of custom bullets but bullets in general still have amazing utility. Bullets with a lot of crush damage are very good against defensive movesets as well. If brute force doesn't work you could try using bullets to break through defensive stances / aerial targets. And for weapons with dual elements (for example Blaze/Freeze, etc.), if Aragami is weak against one element but resist another, then the damage multiplier from the resisted element is ignored, only count the element the Aragami is weak against, so it is safe to bring a Blaze/Freeze weapon to fight a Quadriga, which is Blaze-resistant, for example. For general knowledge, non-elemental gear basically the jack-of-all-trades type with higher base damage, when elemental gear is built for specific jobs and for specific type of Aragami.Same goes for your shield element choices, if it is one-on-one then bring your elemental shield along.
If multiple Aragami is present and has multiple elements, get a shield that cover from your primary target or the one you think you will get most hits from or just simply pick the neutral shield. Haven't tested it thoroughly, and most is based on my experience with previous games (played on Vita), elemental damages as follows (format is elements - defense - base damage multiplier, hits on weakpoints, neutral defense neither gain nor reduce damage):- O element (or OO) against OO defense: 0.20- O element (or OO) against O defense: 0.80- O element against X defense: 1.25- O element against XX defense: 1.50- OO element against X defense: 1.50- OO element against XX defense: 1.75It is for melee weapons, as for the guns. Well guns imo don't benefit as much from elemental coverage as melee do as the bullets pretty much covered it, but it does have niche bonus multiplier if used the right gun for the right situation (and same ammo element for the gun too).
